February 2021 marks five years since Sukrin USA officially launched. While we did have a “soft launch” back in the Fall of 2015, our official launch was not until early 2016.
And boy, does time fly.
We actually almost missed celebrating our birthday! But luckily someone was keeping count. And although we had not yet hit our stride as Sukrin USA until 2016, our journey truly began in late 2014.
Bringing Sukrin to North America
Our president tells:
“For as long as I can remember, I have focused way too much on food and diet. Even when I think back to my teens, I remember constantly trying to balance all the wonderful foods with not getting too heavy. Mention any diet out there, I am sure I’ve tried it! It just never worked long term and over the years, even losing weight when on diets became harder and harder. And when you add to this picture the fact that I finally got diagnosed with Hashimoto’s and hypothyroidism, I realized that a change of lifestyle was required.
Luckily, Sukrin stumbled into my life.
For all practical purposes, I consider myself to be bi-cultural — Scandinavian and American. Since 2007, I have mostly lived in the US, except for an 11-month period in 2013/2014 when I left to live in Denmark for a little while. It was during this time that I learned about Europe’s leading brand for non-GMO sweeteners, nut flours, mixes, chocolates, and more for lifestyles such as Keto, Paleo, LCHF and the like — Norwegian based Sukrin! I was amazed at their quality, integrity and ultimately taste. I started using the products right away for my sweet and savory cooking needs.
However, in the Spring of 2014, I was already again on my way back to the US. I stuffed a few bags of Sukrin Gold in my luggage, expecting to be able to buy more at a later stage But, alas, that was impossible as Sukrin products were not sold anywhere in the US.
Finding this very strange, I went ahead and contacted the manufacturer, asking for possible outlets — and were told that there were none! Coincidently, I have a Master of Science in Marketing, an MBA in Finance and am an Examined Nutritionist, and to make a long story very short, I ended up with the distribution rights for Sukrin products in North America, and the intent to make sure these wonderful products would be available in the US and Canada.
I started out with a little red wagon pulling 5-6 packages across the streets of Manhattan, through the snow, to the post office and I am so proud to now have a small warehouse in Virginia with 3 employees to help me.
I have loved every second of that journey! Working to spread the awareness and learning about all the reasons (or struggles) behind your choice of lifestyle have just been enlightening and I would not have missed it for anything.”

We are also temporarily bringing back an old favorite: our Sukrin Chocolate Cake Mix! With 40% fewer calories and 75% fewer carbohydrates than ordinary chocolate cakes. This cake mix contains Sukrin Granulated Sweetener instead of sugar, and we’ve replaced part of the flour with fat-reduced almond flour, and FiberFin. The result is a delicious low-carb and low GI cake.
