Dear Sukriners,

We realize that there is A LOT of readily available information about sugar substitutes/alternative sweeteners out there – and we feel that now would be a good time to post a guide to the contents, usage and properties of our products to make it a bit easier to navigate the field.

We’d like to highlight the fact that ALL Sukrin products are natural-origin, non-GMO and in no way artificial. Not only are they calorie-free and taste great, they’re actually good for your body. All products, with the exclusion of our fiber syrups*, have been tested and are 100% safe for diabetics with no effect on blood sugar (low GI). They are also kind to your teeth and help prevent plaque build-up and cavities.

It is worth noting that Sukrin products are not all of the same origin: They are either created from the sugar alcohol Erythritol, Stevia, Isomalto-oligosaccharides (IMO), Tagatose or combinations hereof.

NB! To offer you the chance to try a variety of products, we have created three time-limited sweetener kits – and they all ship for FREE!

Sukrin Gold

Sukrin Gold is a top product at Sukrin USA and can be used as a direct 1:1 substitute for white or brown sugar in any recipe. It has a rounder, richer taste than other Sukrin variants and a naturally golden color. Sukrin Gold is made from erythritol, stevia, tagatose, and malt extract.

*We don’t claim this product to be gluten free in the US as the presence of malt extract is not allowed in a gluten free product. The gluten contents in Sukrin Gold is significantly below the threshold for gluten free products (below 7 ppm) and the product is therefore legally considered gluten free in the EU, which is where the product originates.

Sukrin

Original Sukrin is similar in appearance and consistency to regular sugar, yet it is only about 70% as sweet as it is made solely from erythritol. Sukrin works beautifully in coffee or tea and can replace your table sugar.

Sukrin:1

As the name suggests, this product replaces sugar 1:1 in sweetness due to it being made from erythritol with a small amount of stevia added. Some people experience a cooling sensation with regular Sukrin and the combination with stevia eliminates this sensation, creating a versatile sweetener that can be used in any situation where regular sugar would be used: for baking, in coffee or tea, with berries, etc.

SukrinMelis

SukrinMelis is finely ground Sukrin:1 that is easily used as a substitute for powdered sugar in any situation. You can use it in whipped cream, icing, yogurt and smoothies or for decoratively sprinkling cakes and cookies to create that professional look, without the guilty conscience. SukrinMelis dissolves easily in any temperature, cold or hot and is made from erythritol and stevia.

Sukrin+

Sukrin + is twice as sweet as regular sugar and should only be used in half portions when substituting table sugar. It is the Sukrin variant best suited for sweet baked goods and in recipes where sugar accounts for up to 40% of the total contents, Sukrin+ can replace the entire amount of sugar. Sukrin+ is made from erythritol and stevia.

Fiber Syrups

These syrups come in a gold and clear version, each suitable as replacements for honey or syrup and are made from useful, prebiotic fiber that tastes great and is good for your body, too. FiberSirup is a healthier alternative to honey and syrup, and it works wonders in homemade energy bars. The syrup also ensures that biscuits and cookies end up with a crispy crust and chewy core. FiberSirup contains 70% fiber and only 5% sugars and is made from IMOs.

Tagatesse

Tagatesse is a granulated sugar, based on tagatose, which is ideal for baking purposes. It has no cooling effect, like some sugar alcohols can have, and baked goods made with Tagatesse turn out moist and delicious. Another great advantage is that Tagatesse can be caramelized. Like Surkin+, Tagatesse is twice as sweet so we recommend you use half the amount when substituting it for sugar.

Try these wonderful products for yourself for a limited time only. Sukrin USA has put together three kits: one diabetic-friendly granulated sweetener kit, one that includes the most popular products from Sukrin and one that includes our newest popular spread for just $55 each and with free shipping!

Experience has shown that Fiber Syrup can be digested differently from person to person. For most people, the majority of Fiber Syrup act like fiber in the body, while for some people it appears that a portion of the fiber can cause the blood sugar to rise. We therefore recommend people with diabetes to be careful when using Fiber Syrup, and expect a slight impact on blood sugar levels. The blood sugar rise should be lower than for regular syrup and sugar, but may be higher than what one would expect from a product with this low sugar and high fiber content. Unfortunately, we don’t have sufficient documentation to give an exact GI value yet.
